International Animal Rescue

At International Animal Rescue, we save animals from suffering around the world. Our work involves rescuing dancing bears in India, helping primates in Indonesia, and caring for stray dogs and cats in developing countries. We aim to return rescued animals to their natural habitats while providing a permanent sanctuary for those that cannot survive in the wild. Our efforts also contribute to the conservation of critically endangered species like orangutans.

We educate the public on humane animal treatment, guided by scientific evidence to find practical solutions for both animals and humans. Collaborating with organizations and government bodies, we strengthen legislation to protect animals. Our UK office coordinates with teams in India, Indonesia, and Malta, while our US branch, established in 2001 raises awareness and funds for our projects.

In Indonesia, orangutans face critical threats due rainforest destruction for palm oil production. Our team in West Kalimantan rescues and rehabilitates baby orangutans taken from their mothers and adults who have been held in captivity. We established a permanent Orangutan Rescue and Rehabilitation Centre to prepare rescued orangutans for release into protected forest, ensuring their survival and well-being.
